The FCA application window for Detroit residents is scheduled to open July 6 for Impact Area* residents and July 20 for all Detroit residents. 


*Impact Area residents must live in zip code 48213, 48214, or 48215.

 

Detroit at Work is running a second wave of FCA Job Readiness events to help prepare Detroiters for the exclusive opportunity to apply first for jobs at the new FCA Detroit facility! Once you have completed a Job Readiness event, you will be added to the FCA list and you will receive an FCA application link once the application window opens.

  • If you ALREADY ATTENDED and completed a Detroit at Work FCA Job Readiness event in 2019 or 2020 and completed the requirements, you DO NOT have to attend another event
  • If you’re NOT SURE whether or not you are on the list, you can contact our FCA Support Team to check your status. Email [email protected], or call (313) 209- 3187
  • In order to be eligible to apply for one of the positions with FCA you must:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high-school diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to pass a drug screen, including marijuana (which can stay in your system for 45+ days)
  • Pass a basic mechanical reasoning and behavioral assessment
  • Have a federal or state photo ID to prove you are a Detroit resident
     

Detroit at Work is offering FREE virtual tutoring to help you prepare for the application process. You can register for FCA application tutoring through your Detroit at Work profile by clicking here or by calling 313-962-WORK (9675).

Detroit at Work also provides a wide range of barrier removal and supportive services for eligible Detroiters, including: 
  • Assistance obtaining any documents you will need to complete the job application, such as ID or high school completion
  • Assistance preparing to complete the application
  • Math and mechanical reasoning practice tests, as well as signing up for on-going support if required
  • Answers to any questions you may have about FCA’s jobs or what is involved in the hiring process
  • Help with transportation, work-related clothing, tutoring and training, and background expungement
  • Access to a wide network of community partners for help with other need

FCA Application Requirements Support
