Web Access for Detroiters

A Detroit at Work Update on the City’s Digital Equity and Inclusion Plan

As Detroit at Work expands our selection of virtual (on-line) classes and workshops, we will keep you in-the-know on resources that can help you access the internet at home or on-the-go.  Detroit at Work is working closely with the City’s Digital Equity and Inclusion Team and will share updates here.

Comcast has launched an effort to increase internet speeds and provide free internet for 60 days to qualifying residents enrolled/seeking to enroll in their Internet Essentials program. If you know someone who does not have internet, or needs financial support to pay for internet service, please direct them to www.internetessentials.com

The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.

AT&T offers Access, which is a low-cost option for families who need help paying for internet service.
