An In Detroit Organization (IDO), also referred to as a Mentor Organization, is a community organization selected by the City of Detroit to recruit, enroll, and support JumpStart participants throughout their time in the program. Participants will work one-on-one with a Mentor from their selected IDO over the course of 18 months.

A Career Coach assists with goal setting (ISS completion) and connection with community resources. The Coach also schedules participants for CASAS assessments, Training Enrollments, and GED/Skills Refresh Enrollments.

A Talent Sourcing Specialist (TSS) works closely with coaches and participants to determine the type of jobs that match the skills and qualifications of those seeking employment.

Participants who enroll full-time (35 hours a week or more) will receive a 6-4-2 stipend: $600 for the first six months of the program, $400 for the next six months, and $200 for the last six months.

Part-time enrollees (20-35 hours a week) will receive a 3-2-1 stipend: $300 for the first six months, $200 for the next six months, and $100 for the last six months.

Yes. Participants are responsible for paying their own taxes.

Participants will be eligible to receive their payment.upon signing the self-attestation form, and completing all assessments and enrollment forms with a coach or talent sourcing specialist,

A person may temporarily step away from the program if needed. If a person is taking a pause from the program, their stipend payments will also be suspended for the length of their leave. However, a person may not drop out of JumpStart or be kicked out of the program and re-enroll.
