Coronavirus Update How We Are Continuing to Serve You

Our Top Priority is the health and safety of our staff and customers.

Our Detroit at Work Career Centers staff are here to help you – over the phone and virtually. Due to COVID-19, our Career Centers are currently not able to serve job seekers in person.  Instead of visiting a Career Center, you can contact your career coach, call 313-962-WORK (9675) or join our online Detroit at Work community where you can view workshops, share your resume and apply for jobs.

For UNEMPLOYMENT Claims, please file online at: Michigan.gov/UIA or call 1-866-500-0017. You are not required to come to a Michigan Works! Agency (Career Center) to file for UI or register for work.

If you need us - CALL US at 313-962-WORK (9675).

Detroit at Work Career Centers are still open, and we are evaluating our schedule of events on a daily basis.  Please check Detroitatwork.com or call 1-313-962-WORK to stay up-to-date on the events and services available at your neighborhood Detroit at Work Career Center.

In the meantime, there are three important things we want you to know we're doing:

  1. Giving our dedicated Detroit at Work staff the information and materials needed to keep themselves and our customers safe.
  2. Speeding up our existing plans to deliver more on-line work-readiness and job search solutions, and adding more 100% paper-based solutions so you can keep building your skills at home or on-the-go.
  3. Working closely with our employers, including FCA, on phone-based and on-line interview solutions so that we keep you ready to go whenever they are. Although it's too soon to know how the employment market will be affected, we are already talking with employers across all of Detroit's major industries on how we can help slow and/or correct the economic impact to their businesses.
  4. Lastly, we're also talking with the State of Michigan every day about Detroit's recommendations for financial relief packages that will help you continue to handle your financial obligations during this time. You'll hear more as we get answers.

By staying smart, safe, and calm, we'll be in a great position to keep things moving and quickly bounce back.

Keep watching for Detroit at Work updates!  We're excited about keeping you in-the-know about what's ahead!
