General Summary:
DPS Nutrition is looking to hire Food Servant Assistants and Food Service Specialist. These positions are responsible for overseeing the food preparation process for DPS School lunch programs with the Specialist overseeing the total process. Pay rate for these positions starts at $10.00 per hour for the Assistant and
$14.00 per hour for the Specialist.
Responsibilities:
• Could be asked to prepare food items including fruits, vegetables and meats but chopping and cutting them
• Could be required to prepare semi-cook dishes according to set recipes and ensure that they are stored away for use by the cook
• May wash meats, fruits, lentils and vegetables to clean them and store them away in refrigerators and
pantry areas
• Weigh and measure ingredients to ensure that they conform to the instructions provided
• Keep record of supplies and ensure that any missing or insufficient ingredients are procured in a timely
manner
Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
• Your valid (non-expired) Michigan ID or Driver’s License
• Your Social Security Card or Passport
• Several copies of your resume
OPTIONAL:
• A copy of your DD214 or letter from the VA if you are a veteran
• Proof of public assistance income like an award letter from DHS or Social Security
• Proof of any income earned from a job in the past 6 months (check stub)
• A copy of your layoff notice or Unemployment documentation, if you are laid off
