Always wanted to own your own business, but not sure where to start?
Detroit at Work is partnering with Wayne County Community College District to offer the Entrepreneurship Training Academy
This 2-week, virtual course is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn more about what it takes to start, operate, and maintain a small business and to decide whether this is the right career path for you.
In this course, you will work with expert instructors to review basic business concepts and dig into the entrepreneurial landscape in Detroit.
Topics you will cover include:
1. Entrepreneurship & Economic Opportunities in the COVID-19 Environment
2. Developing Your Business Concept
3. Creating Your Vision
4. Defining Your Market & Staff
5. Business Image & Identity
6. Doing Business Virtually
7. Business Structures, Finance, & Laws
8. Business Sustainability
This course 100% virtual and is free to eligible Detroit residents. Students are selected through a competitive application process.
The next class is scheduled for May 17 – Jun 4, Weekday evenings from 6 pm – 8 pm.
All applicants who are not selected for this class, will be considered for future classes.
