The Detroit Youth at Work Program empowers young people to build strong, lasting careers by connecting them with personalized support, hands-on training, and real-world experience. Through work-readiness, occupational training, paid job opportunities and ongoing support services, the programs equips both in-school and out-of-school youth with the tools they need to succeed in today’s workforce.

C.H.O.I.C.E.S.

The C.H.O.I.C.E.S. (Choosing Honorable Options Increasing Chances to Establish Success) Program provides intensive case management, job readiness training, and employment placement for young Detroiters ages 18-24 impacted by the justice system, school discipline, or community violence. The program focuses on strength-based support to help participants build stability, skills, and long-term economic opportunity

Grow Detroit's Young Talent (GDYT)

GDYT is the City of Detroit's 6-week, 120-hour summer youth employment program that provides meaningful paid work experiences for more than 8,000 Detroit youth ages 14-24. The 3-tiered structure offers professional internships, industry-led training, and project-based  learning opportunities to participants based on age and interests. JMG

The Jobs for Michigan's Graduates is an affiliate of the national Jobs for America's Graduates initiative, which is a comprehensive program that supports youth. JMG is committed to supporting young people ages 14-24 in overcoming personal and circumstantial barriers by guiding them onto a pathway to career success and self-sufficiency. Detroit at Work works as a fiduciary to design the program that is administered by Youth Solutions.

 

WIOA Youth Program

The WIOA Youth Program supports young people in the City of Detroit, ages 14 and 24, who are facing barriers to education or employment. The program offers individualized services to help young people successfully transition into school, training, or the workforce.

Through WIOA, participants can access a variety of services, including career exploration, job readiness training, paid work experiences, occupational skills training, mentoring, and supportive services such as transportation or assistance with basic needs.
