JPMorgan Chase Continues to Invest in Detroit


New virtual call center will create dozens of well-paying jobs for Detroiters and builds on the firm’s $200 million investment in the city that began in 2014
 


These full-time, home-based roles will provide access to a steady income with opportunities for career growth, financial wellness and tuition assistance for local residents primarily from underserved neighborhoods.


As part of Chase’s Detroit virtual call center, these account specialists will help build relationships with customers over the phone and help them manage their financial accounts. 


While the roles will be virtual, teams will gather at Chase Community Centers for onboarding, training and face-to-face meetings. Initially, the firm has hired approximately 50 members of the Detroit community, with the opportunity to add more jobs in the future. 


These new employees will be paid no less than $22.50/hour and receive an annual benefits package worth about $16,000.
This effort also supports the firm’s commitment to providing a second chance to people with criminal backgrounds. 


Over the past few years, JPMorgan Chase has removed all questions about criminal backgrounds from job applications and advanced policy solutions that provide a “clean slate” for certain nonviolent arrest or conviction records. Second Chance hires represent approximately 10 percent of the firm’s new hires in the U.S. over the last three years.

Qualifications:

  • Home Location resides within 30 miles radius of the JPMC Corktown Community Branch, 1620 Michigan Avenue, 48216
  • Safe and noise free work environment in your residence
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that requires 100% phone-based customer interaction
  • Minimum of 6 months customer interaction or customer support experience strongly preferred, either by phone or face-to-face
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions including mouse and keyboard usage, launching applications, conducting searches on the Internet, and maneuvering in a Windows-based environment strongly preferred

Work Schedule:

Work schedules will vary. Candidates must be willing to work schedules during our operating hours, which include evenings, weekends and holidays. Operating hour shift times vary to include 8 hour shift 5 days a week or 10 hour shift 4 days a week; specific shift times/days will be provided by the Recruiter.

This position requires that you attend the training as scheduled. The hours may not coincide with your regularly scheduled hours.

The Account Supervisor will demonstrate a strong understanding of client success management and balance their focus on driving business results while offering options and finding solutions to motivate and support their team while helping our customers.

  • Are able to oversee a work from home team navigating multiple technologies
  • Demonstrate resiliency and extreme adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Coach teams on how to approach problems logically and with good judgment to ensure the appropriate customer outcome
  • Empower teams to take ownership of each customer interaction while treating customers with respect and responding with empathy
  • Resolve customer escalations and document account activities thoroughly and concisely
  • Lead by example through demonstrating personal excellence including punctuality, integrity, and accountability
  • Approach and resolve problems logically and with good judgment to ensure the appropriate customer outcome is taken by the specialist
  • Make final decisions on behalf of our customers quickly and effectively when required
  • Enforce and abide by all applicable regulatory and department practices and procedures
  • Encourage teams to think critically and exercise independent judgement

  • Minimum of 2 years customer interaction or customer support experience strongly preferred, either by phone or face-to-face
