JOIN Detroit at Work for Skilled Trades Training Opportunities

The skilled trades are one of the fastest growing industries in Detroit — and women are showing up to fill those jobs.

Training is starting at the end of April in the skilled trades in various programs. Training can lead to certification, benefits, and a lifelong career.

Apprenticeships in the skilled trades range from $14-18 an hour, and nationally recognized credentials after apprenticeships give access to careers that can pay up to $40 an hour wage.

The City of Detroit also has the Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP) that can provide support for childcare, transportation, and work-related equipment while in training.
